To learn English, we have two main options: take online English courses or go to traditional language schools. There are pros and cons to both options; and the benefits that can be taken depend on which option is most convenient for us.
Our decision can be based on several factors: the proximity of the actual language school on land, the course levels offered, the teaching materials to be used depending on the course level, the competence of the instructors, the teacher to student ratio, and the cost of the course.
However, for most people looking to take English lessons, online courses are the best option.
Online English courses
Online English courses are offered for different levels of language proficiency. This way, we can start with how well or little we know English, so we don’t have to attend the courses we already know.
The general levels of English courses cover pre-school, elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also English courses for professionals who want to learn English.
Courses can last anywhere from twenty to one hundred and fifty hours, depending on the course we choose. We can start with beginner courses and finish with advanced courses; or we can also take one course at a time for a certain period of time, depending on what is convenient and comfortable for us.
If we just need to brush up on our English skills a little, we can go straight to the advanced courses. On the other hand, if we are not sure of our exact level of language proficiency, we may ask our teachers to test our English skills first or through English language school Singapore. These services are usually free of charge.
Benefits of Online Courses
There are many benefits to learning English online. On the one hand, it is convenient for us to study at home. We just need a work computer, suitable web applications, and a reliable internet connection.
Secondly, we will not be shy; especially if we are not yet very sure that we speak English. We can also save time and money as we don’t have to spend on gas or fees to get to class.
We can also schedule classes at a time that is most convenient for us so that they do not interfere with our daily routine and our responsibilities.
Deciding Factor: There are free study materials that we can easily view and download on the Internet. This means that if we want to cross over and learn English on our own, we can start with the free materials offered on the Internet.
We can learn the correct grammar and spelling, among many other possibilities. There are even fun games we can play that include English lessons. No matter what we decide, if we are truly determined to learn English, we have many options.
