Chapter 521: [Crimson Inheritance] (40)
Chapter 521: [Crimson Inheritance] (40)
"Daisy has nothing but a pretty face, yet Nick actually invited her to the dance!""Just thinking about having to look at that bitch’s face tomorrow night is already pissing me off..."
Inside the lavish clubroom, a group of elegantly dressed young ladies had gathered together.
Officially, it was a club meeting. In reality, it was nothing more than a place for them to gossip and stir up trouble.
One of the girls lightly dabbed more blush onto her cheeks before glancing at the person seated at the center with a smile.
"Mia, what do you think?"
Mia was busy tapping away on her phone. Hearing the question, she casually lifted her eyes.
"Do you seriously think Nick’s going to protect her? By the time Daisy humiliates herself, Nick will probably be laughing even harder than we are."
Mia had always disliked Daisy. Because of that, she didn’t even need to give any orders. Her followers already knew exactly what they were supposed to do.
"I wonder what Daisy’s going to wear tomorrow night..."
One girl muttered.
Another immediately laughed.
"Does it even matter what she wears?"
"It’d be even better if she wore white. Stains show up so much easier. Hahaha."
"We might as well just strip her naked."
[Mia has completely blended in with this crowd.]
[At first I thought she was shy and gentle. Turns out she just hadn’t had the chance to be her true self.]
[But Daisy is the final boss. If Mia keeps this up, things probably won’t end well for her.]
As evening approached, everyone else left to prepare the "special performance" they had planned for Daisy the following night.
Mia knew there was nothing for her to worry about. As always, her subordinates would take care of everything.
All she had to do was stand before the mirror, admiring her own reflection.
With a face this beautiful, once Daisy disappeared, she would become the center of everyone’s attention.
That was how things were naturally meant to be.
Mia gently placed a hand against the mirror. The corners of her lips curled upward in excitement, and the infatuation in her eyes was almost impossible to conceal.
But that infatuated look vanished the instant an uninvited figure appeared in the mirror.
Mia didn’t even bother turning around. Disdain and irritation filled her eyes.
"What are you doing here, Silvanus?"
Silvanus, Daisy’s number one loyal dog. Someone like Daisy was only worthy of ending up with someone like Silvanus. Hmph.
Silvanus looked at Mia. Setting aside the fact that her appearance was completely different, it was her attitude—so vastly different from before—that was truly astonishing. It was as if Mia had been born into this world.
The corner of Silvanus’s lips curled into a faint smile.
"So you’ve really forgotten who you are... and why you came here, Mia?"
Mia flinched.
Her eyes widened as she glared at Silvanus through the mirror.
Could it be...
She spun around, fixing Silvanus with a venomous glare.
Clearly, this wasn’t the Silvanus of this world.
"What are you talking about? I have no idea what you’re saying!"
By the end of the sentence, Mia was practically screaming.
Silvanus met her gaze without the slightest hesitation.
"I only wanted you to come to your senses a little sooner. The creature hunting you outside is Daisy. If you keep making an enemy of Daisy now, you’ll only make your own ending even more miserable."
Mia stared at Silvanus in disbelief.
She had thought she had forgotten everything.
But the moment Silvanus reminded her, the terror and helplessness she had buried instantly surged back like a monster, swallowing her whole.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about! Get out! Get out! Get out! Somebody! Somebody, get in here! Throw him out!"
Mia screamed like a madwoman, hurling her cosmetics straight at Silvanus.
None of them hit.
Instead, they merely splattered expensive makeup across the priceless walls.
"Mia! What’s wrong?!"
Concerned voices came from outside.
The moment Daniel rushed into the room, a perfume bottle flew straight toward his face. Had he not dodged in time, it would have smashed into him head-on.
Crash!
The piercing sound of shattering glass rang through the room as the perfume bottle hit the floor.
Daniel looked at Mia with a mixture of concern and bewilderment.
Mia stared at him blankly for a moment before covering her face and bursting into tears.
Seeing this, Daniel hurried over and wrapped her in a comforting embrace.
"Mia, what happened?"
"I want to kill Daisy!"
Mia’s eyes were bloodshot. She wasn’t joking. If Daisy was destined to bring about her miserable end, then she would kill Daisy before that could ever happen!
Daniel couldn’t help hesitating for a brief moment.
The instant Mia sensed that hesitation, rage flared inside her. Just because Daisy had a pretty face, these idiotic men were always willing to go soft on her! She wanted nothing more than to carve that face to pieces!
She looked up at Daniel, her eyes filled with sorrow.
"You’ll help me, won’t you, Daniel?"
As she spoke, she leaned in and kissed him on the lips in an attempt to win him over.
Daniel lowered his gaze and responded by gripping the back of her neck, deepening the kiss. His hand slowly wandered across Mia’s body.
Mia let him do as he pleased, as though she were offering herself as a bargaining chip.
Daniel smiled.
"Daisy’s nothing more than a sewer rat. Making someone like her disappear isn’t difficult, Mia. Don’t worry. Anyone who makes you unhappy... I won’t let them continue to exist. You know that, don’t you? In this place, our power is absolute."
Mia leaned against Daniel, murmuring quietly,
"That’s right..."
Once Daisy was dead, she would kill Silvanus as well.
Then everything would be over.
No one would ever threaten this luxurious life of hers again.
That night, at the abandoned building on the school grounds.
The site had already been cleared in preparation for the construction of a grand theater, leaving the area vast and empty. Beyond it lay the edge of a forest.
The darkness shrouding the place made it feel like a world completely cut off from everything outside.
Even with its ornate fence surrounding it, the place still gave off an unsettling sense of unease.
Like a bird frightened by the mere sight of a bent branch, Nick cautiously made his way inside. His footsteps were light but hurried as he pushed open the door to the only room that had yet to be dismantled.
Inside, Silvanus was sitting on top of a table, his head lowered as if lost in thought.
His heavy bangs had been clipped back on both sides, the hair clips having obviously been borrowed from Mia’s clubroom.
Hearing the door open, he slowly raised his head.
Almost at the same moment, Nick lit up with delight. He practically leaped forward and threw himself at Silvanus.
"Silvanus, it really is you! You have no idea how terrified I’ve been. Elya was killed by Neo, then you disappeared... I thought... I thought..."
Silvanus was jostled so much by Nick that his head started to spin a little.
Just then, a single drop of water landed on the back of his hand, seemingly out of nowhere.
Silvanus: "..."
Frowning, he looked at Nick, whose head was hanging low.
In the end, he simply reached out and lifted Nick’s chin, only to find his face drenched in tears.
Nick sniffled and awkwardly turned his face away.
At that moment, he suddenly felt someone wipe at his cheek.
Silvanus’s thumb gently brushed across his face.
Nick’s eyes widened as he looked at Silvanus.
Before he could even feel happy about it, however, Silvanus lightly smacked his cheek, pushing his face to one side.
"You’re ugly when you cry."
Silvanus casually wiped the tears clinging to his fingers onto the hem of Nick’s meticulously tailored, expensive clothes before calmly delivering his verdict.
