Chapter 2664 Finding A Place To Camp

It was a number that was simply too big for Meng Bai.

In his entire life so far, he might not have even earned that much before. And yet, Lin Mu had casually mentioned obtaining a hundred-stack of talismans as if it were nothing.

"Even a single Low-Grade Immortal Stone is valuable, and it's hard to get, even if you have a lot of Spirit Stones," Meng Bai stated, still trying to process the enormity of it all. @@@@

"That's true. But if you can learn the art of formations well enough, you won't have to worry about that ever again," Lin Mu replied, his words making Meng Bai feel a lot better.

With that said, the two ventured deeper into the forest. Lin Mu activated his senses, observing everything around them. This was his first time entering this particular forest, and he had already considered it as one of the potential locations for the Litany of Verdant Forests.

'This certainly feels quite suitable for it,' Lin Mu thought to himself, scanning the various towering trees that filled the landscape.

The forest was alive, its presence almost palpable. It wasn't just the density of the vegetation but the harmony between nature itself. Majestic trees stretched towards the heavens, their thick trunks covered in moss and their roots weaving intricate patterns across the ground. Some had deep emerald leaves, while others bore golden hues, shimmering softly under the occasional beams of sunlight filtering through the dense canopy.

Bushes and shrubs grew in chaotic yet mesmerizing patterns, their colorful flowers attracting spirit insects that hummed in the background. The scent of fresh earth mixed with the aroma of wild herbs and blooming flora, creating an intoxicating blend. The further they went, the richer the Immortal Qi became, flowing through the forest like an unseen river. Lin Mu could feel the very vitality of the land pulsating beneath his feet.

Even though Ram Orchard City gave off an air of harmony with nature, stepping into this forest was an entirely different experience. Here, nature reigned supreme, untouched by the hands of men.

The two walked in silence for an hour before Meng Bai finally spoke.

"Are we supposed to go somewhere in particular?" Meng Bai asked.

The hill stood about two hundred meters tall, though it was difficult to distinguish from the surrounding landscape. Its defining feature was the cluster of unusually shaped trees growing atop it, making it stand out slightly amidst the rolling forested terrain. It quite literally stuck out like a thumb compared to other, much larger hills.

"That's the one—Thumb Hill," Meng Bai declared.

"Alright," Lin Mu said before accelerating toward the hill at a speed that made Meng Bai widen his eyes in shock.

In less than ten seconds, they had already arrived, the once-distant hill now directly beneath them.

"That was... so fast..." Meng Bai took deep breaths, trying to steady his racing heart. 'And here I thought our previous flight was fast. Compared to this, that might as well have been a slow walk.' He realized that had Lin Mu not decided to teach him how to fly earlier, they would have reached this place long ago.

"Now where?" Lin Mu asked as they hovered over the Thumb Hill.

"Umm... There's supposed to be a flat area behind it," Meng Bai tried to look down, but the thick canopy made it difficult to see.

"Alright." Lin Mu, having already sensed the area in question, swiftly descended.

RUSTLE RUSTLE

They passed through the treetops, the branches brushing against them as they landed in a secluded clearing. This area stood out due to the complete lack of trees in an otherwise dense forest. It spanned roughly two hundred square meters, yet despite the absence of tall trees, the surrounding vegetation had extended its branches over it, forming a natural ceiling. Sunlight filtered through in broken patches, casting dappled patterns on the ground.

The ground itself was an unusual mix of gravel and sand, rather than the rich soil found in the rest of the forest. This likely explained why no large plants grew here, making it an ideal spot for setting up a temporary base.

"So, what is this place supposed to be?" Lin Mu asked, his eyes scanning the clearing.
