"I see. She’s looking for me because of the surgery." Ji Chuan gulped down the beef in no time, and dashed into the bathroom.

After the sound of water rushing, Ji Chuan came out looking refreshed.

"I’m off to work." Ji Chuan tidied up his clothes and said, "You might have to handle dinner yourself tonight."

"Working overtime again?" Jason asked.

"Hmm."

"Ji, there’s something I need to tell you." Jason said while clearing the table, "I’ve been in your country for quite a while now, I think it’s time for me to head back."

"Head back? So soon? Yan Huan’s condition hasn’t completely improved yet!" Ji Chuan was a bit surprised.

"We’ve identified the root of Yan Huan’s illness. As long as the mental knot is untied, she’ll be fine! The hypnosis has been very effective in helping her manage her anxiety. I believe her recovery won’t take too long. There’s no need for me to stay! Sometimes love is a great remedy; you can definitely heal her completely," Jason said.

"Jason, I’m really reluctant to see you go. We haven’t caught up in ages! I was planning to have a nice chat with you!"

"Hmph. Where do you have the time? Your schedule is always packed; if you’re not seeing patients, you’re meeting your sweetheart. You don’t have any time for me," Jason was a bit displeased.

Nonetheless, he was happy for his good friend finding love.

"How about I squeeze in a few days to spend with you?"

"Forget it. Even you’re getting married, I have to step up my game. Lately, I’ve been feeling good about Cecily; we’ve had a few long-distance calls. I’ve decided to pursue her!"

"You should’ve just said so if you’re chasing a woman," Ji Chuan teased him, "But I feel like you’re going back for nothing; Cecily might just be reaching out because she’s lonely."

"Ji! You’re such a bad friend," Jason called out angrily.

"Sorry. I’m just being honest," Ji Chuan chuckled unkindly, closed the door, and left.

In the afternoon, Qiu Xinyi purposely went to the affiliated hospital, stood at the director’s office door, and gently knocked.

"Come in," Ji Chuan was writing something and called out without looking up.

Qiu Xinyi pushed the door open and entered, seeing Ji Chuan in his white coat, a gentle smile curled up the corners of her mouth, "Ji Chuan!"

"You’ve arrived. Please have a seat!" Ji Chuan stood up to make her tea, "Sorry, I didn’t get to work this morning!"

Qiu Xinyi took the tea Ji Chuan handed her and said with a smile, "It’s alright. Ji Chuan, I’m here today because of my father’s surgery."

"Has the Major General made up his mind?" Ji Chuan asked, "Is he willing to go through with the surgery?"

"He is. However, he’s still very concerned," Qiu Xinyi gazed at Ji Chuan’s handsome face and said, "I wanted to ask if Director Ji could personally operate on my father? After all, you’re the best in this General Surgery department."

"That’s not a problem," Ji Chuan agreed without hesitation.

The chief wanted to specially request him for the surgery, how could he possibly refuse?

"Then... about the surgery timing?" Qiu Xinyi asked.

"I suggest Major General Qiu himself come over. We can do a further examination and then work out a surgical plan!" Ji Chuan seriously considered this issue and said, "If he’s feeling uncomfortable, it’s best to come as soon as possible. Don’t delay too long to avoid any changes!"
