Chapter 70 Chaotic Thunder Seed
Chapter 70 Chaotic Thunder Seed
The rain was still falling, showing no signs of stopping.
Rainwater cascades down the rock wall above the cave entrance like a waterfall, forming a curtain of water that separates the cave from the outside world.
Outside the cave, a torrential downpour raged with thunder and lightning; inside, however, all was quiet and peaceful. The cave and the outside world seemed to be two completely different places.
Xi'er stood at the entrance of the cave, looked at the sky, and guessed that the rain wouldn't stop anytime soon, so she moved a few flat stones and arranged them in a row at the entrance of the cave, inviting her sisters to sit down.
"Eat something first, fill your stomach."
Xi'er took out the meat pies and purple sweet potatoes that Cai Xuan had prepared for them from the basket on her back and gave them to Yun'er and Xuan'er.
The three sat at the cave entrance, eating meat patties and sweet potatoes while drinking water, quietly waiting for the rain to stop.
After finishing her meal, Yun'er suddenly raised her head and looked out at the thunder and rain outside the cave. Her gaze pierced through the heavy rain and the flashes of lightning, landing on the bolts of lightning that were striking down from the sky.
Streaks of lightning ripped through the sky, meandering through the clouds like thunder dragons roaring and churning in the heavens.
Thunder roared, the heavens and earth trembled, and the air was filled with the power of destruction and rebirth.
As if sensing something, Yun'er sat cross-legged on the rock, facing out of the cave, and closed her eyes.
Raindrops fell on her face, cool and damp, but she was oblivious; thunder roared in her ears, making the cave walls tremble slightly, but she remained motionless. Her breathing gradually became long and even, creating a subtle resonance with the rhythm of the thunder outside the cave.
After a while, a faint layer of lightning appeared around her, and her divine eye quietly opened, with tiny arcs of electricity leaping and dancing around her.
The lightning in the sky seemed to sense something.
A bolt of lightning, as thick as a bucket, struck down from the clouds, hitting an ancient tree dozens of feet away from the cave entrance. The intense lightning illuminated the entire hillside, instantly splitting the ancient tree in two, igniting a raging fire that was quickly extinguished by the torrential rain.
That instant of lightning illuminated the world as if it were daytime.
Strands of lightning power were drawn from the falling lightning, like invisible threads, drifting towards the cave entrance and flowing into Yun'er's brow and divine eyes.
Yun'er's body trembled slightly. Deep within her consciousness, a previously dim rune on the Great Dao Heavenly Ruins Thunder Talisman suddenly lit up, radiating a dazzling light. The drawn-in thunder power began to surge into her from between her eyebrows, flowing along her meridians throughout her body, traversing and coursing within her.
As the lightning passed, her physique grew stronger and more resilient, and the lightning on her body became increasingly dazzling, gradually spreading from her body to form a protective shield. The shield was spherical, extending more than three feet outward from Yun'er's center. Countless tiny arcs of electricity danced and moved across the surface of the shield, like a net woven from lightning, isolating Yun'er from the outside world.
Raindrops drifting in from outside the cave fell onto the light shield and were instantly evaporated into water vapor. All kinds of sounds were also blocked out by the light shield.
Yun'er sat quietly inside the light barrier, her breathing long and even, her face solemn, as if she were undergoing a sacred baptism.
The lightning power circulated within her body time and again before finally being refined and flowing into her dantian. As the lightning power within her dantian increased, it gradually intertwined, nurturing a chaotic lightning seed.
"Konglong"
The moment the Chaos Thunder Seed was born, it seemed as if a great thunderous sound exploded in Yun'er's mind.
Deep within his consciousness, the Great Dao Heavenly Ruins Thunder Talisman suddenly lit up. The power of thunder no longer flowed within his body but was directly drawn into his dantian and injected into the Chaos Thunder Seed. As the power of thunder continued to increase, a vast vitality gradually emerged within the Thunder Seed.
"Crackling"
Suddenly, a thin crack appeared in the lightning seed.
A bolt of lightning leaped out, drawing an arc within the dantian and illuminating the entire void.
As the lightning seed cracked open, the lightning in the sky seemed to sense something and, as if possessed, began to strike down relentlessly, landing near the cave. Strands, strands, and streams of lightning power were drawn by the divine eye and surged into the lightning seed in the dantian.
The cracks in the lightning seed grew larger and deeper, and a tender shoot of a chaotic lightning tree emerged from them.
The buds are as thin as hair and as tender as spring grass, yet they carry an indomitable vitality.
Nourished by the power of thunder, it slowly grew, from as thin as a hair to as thick as a little finger, and finally into a small sapling the size of a palm. The outer shell shed by the thunder seed transformed into a small thunder pool, floating beneath the chaotic thunder tree sapling.
After the Thunder Pool takes form, the thunderous power from the outside world is drawn into it and refined into the purest thunder syrup, providing ample nutrients for the growth of the Chaos Thunder Tree.
Yun'er's body underwent a tremendous change, and astonishing phenomena also appeared on her body.
The lightning shield around her body rapidly expanded outwards, growing larger and larger. The tiny arcs of lightning that initially danced on the surface of the shield now transformed into terrifying bolts of lightning containing boundless killing intent.
Xi'er and Xuan'er were so frightened by the suddenly expanding light barrier that they retreated back one after another, fearing that they might be struck to ashes by the terrifying lightning if they were not careful.
Xuan'er's eyes widened, and she whispered to Xi'er, "Second Sister, what...what are you cultivating?"
"I don't know, but she seems really powerful. Don't go near her, or you might get struck by lightning," Xi'er said, swallowing hard.
They were surprised by Yun'er's unexpected encounter and held their breath, afraid to make a sound for fear of disturbing her.
Xi'er stood with her arms crossed over her chest against the cave wall, her gaze darting back and forth between the clouds and the outside world, both protecting her younger sister and being wary of any potential dangers outside. Xuan'er stood beside her, her eyes occasionally glancing at the rain outside the cave, her ears constantly listening for every sound.
"rustling"
Suddenly, a sound seemed to come from deep within the cave.
The sound was extremely soft and faint, almost inaudible. If the cave hadn't been so quiet, no one would have noticed it at all.
Xi'er's ears twitched, and she turned to look deeper into the cave. The cave was dark, and she couldn't see anything clearly. Her eyes could only see a small area near the entrance that was illuminated by the light; beyond that, there was only thick, impenetrable darkness, and she couldn't see anything at all.
"Xuan'er, let's see what's inside the cave?" Xi'er said with a serious expression.
Xuan'er also heard the commotion and, upon hearing her elder sister's words, activated her supernatural powers to look inside.
In an instant, two invisible beams of light shot out from her eyes, piercing through the darkness and bringing everything inside the cave into view.
As far as the eye could see, there was a deep, dark cave with jagged walls and craggy rocks. Large and small stones were scattered on the ground, and tiny droplets of water dripped slowly from the stalactites on the cave ceiling into the puddles below, making a crisp "drip-drip" sound. Further in, the cave became more and more spacious, and the color of the rocks on the cave walls became darker and darker, changing from grayish-white to dark gray, and from dark gray to jet black, as if they had been dyed with ink.
Xuan'er frowned and continued to look deeper into the room.
