Chapter 594: They Know Of The Cauldron
Chapter 594: They Know Of The Cauldron
Manu turned his gaze to the rest of the Zodiac emissaries, his voice low but laced with a threat that seemed to wrap itself around their hearts. "It seems your family leaders sent you here without telling you who I am... or rather, what I am. Even though this place lies below the veil, disrespect me, and you will find your place at the pit of my belly."
His chilling words hung in the air, the room growing heavy with observable fear. Every eye flicked to the still-writhing form of the Ox man on the ground, his gurgled cries serving as a gruesome reminder of what defiance could bring.@@@@
Manu casually strolled back to his throne, his damp body gleaming under the flickering light as droplets of bathwater fell from his hair. Once again, he draped himself lazily across the throne, his posture exuding an effortless dominance. His gaze swept the room, as if silently daring any one of them to challenge him again.
The Zodiac warriors stood frozen for a moment, their instincts of self-preservation kicking in. They could sense it now—the power that radiated from Manu, a power far beyond what they had initially thought. Gold rank. The realization sent shivers through them. The disdain they had held just minutes before, for having been kept waiting, evaporated like mist under the morning sun.
After all, who were they before the power and might of a gold rank. The answer was NOTHING.
One by one, their expressions shifted, their once-contemptuous faces now contorting into forced smiles, smiles so strained it seemed as if their skin might tear. They stepped forward, each bowing slightly as they presented their invitations—polite, eager words spilling from their lips about how well their families would treat him, how honored they would be to host someone of his stature.
Manu watched it all unfold with quiet amusement, his eyes gleaming with an almost predatory satisfaction. Each offer, each groveling attempt to win his favor, only served to fuel the sense of superiority bubbling beneath his calm exterior.
Amidst the flurry of false pleasantries, he spoke inwardly to Chiron’s bound soul. "Look at them, Chiron. Look how they fold and bend like carpet. All because of power." His mental voice was thick with condescension. "For power, even a crayfish will straighten its back."
In his mind, he could almost hear Chiron’s bitter silence, but that only made the moment all the sweeter. These once-proud emissaries, scions of the Zodiac families, were now groveling at his feet—just as he had known they would.
He smiled coldly, and though he entertained their offers, in his heart, he knew this was only the beginning.
The identity of this person had been mysteriously kept a secret as tight as possible, but Manu had access to Chiron’s memories, coupled with their combined intelligence, he had a rough idea of who it was, even though in theory, this person was supposed to be dead.
But this was the martial world and Manu had seen a much greater world than this one and the secrets that it could provide. Under certain conditions, the mercy and divine power of the gods, it was indeed possible for one who was thought to be dead to indeed come back to life.
This meant that a lot factors were at play here.
Firstly, according to Chiron’s memory that Manu now had access to, the war was not supposed to happen until about another ninety to a hundred years. The reason for that war had also been a treasure. And it had also been a person.
That person had managed to swallow seven Cardinal forbidden zones and operated under the influence of all seven sins. He was a threat on the same level as the Demon king and the Elven king that had shook the foundations of the world.
But with Chiron’s interference in the world, the war had been brought closer, and the reason for war was none other than his sister, Nora.
After all, she had the same physic like the that of the Elven and demon king.
As far as anyone was concerned, she was either going to become a world asset or a world threat.
Everyone was looking for a way to pull her to their side.
But the true question was ’How did they all find out?’
This much could not be helped as this could be traced to a particular day, a birthday ceremony that had been held in the Chasity family of the Holy church, by Apollo for his loving sister....
