1275 the savior

from the sounds, dan could tell that there were three dragxtarns who entered the room where they were hiding. the light from the flashlight suddenly illuminated the pile of boxes where lydia was hiding, in reflex, lydia and dan lowered their heads in haste.

"where's the light switch?" complained one of the men.

"i'm looking for it, okay!" the other man replied peevishly.

dan and lydia look at each other in fear, knowing it will be over for them when the lights are on. they suppressed the shiver then all of a sudden owen groaned softly and their hearts stopped! lydia immediately covers owen's mouth but it is too late.

"do you hear that?"

"yeah, it's coming from here," the man pointed his flashlight to dan and lydia's hiding spot.

lydia's hands trembled as her heart clenched with dread, meantime the enemy's footsteps got closer and closer. dan clenched his fist, he had to make a decision right away if he wanted to save owen and lydia.

"don't move..." dan pressed his index finger on his lips.

lydia looked at him in confusion when dan suddenly shot at the enemy, after he got their attention dan rushed to the window and then jumped through the window causing the glass to shatter.

"get him!"

"he jumped down!" using himself as bait dan knew he took a big risk but this is all he can do to save his brother. dan rolls on the grounds while behind him the three dragxtarn follow. the three men grinned look at him with a cold sneer.

"ha, you finally show yourself!"

"where are the other rats?"

dan discarded the empty gun on the side and then took out the swords from his back, "are we going to talk or fight?!" dan challenged them.

"huh, you like to talk big, huh" the man looked at the youngster like a fool, he raised his mechanical arm, the man clenched his fist then a row of reddish glowing sharp claws emerged from the knuckles.

the other dragxtarn noticed the unease on the boy's face and they all laughed. not long after, five other people appeared and they surrounded dan, although they didn't interfere in the fight between their members and dan because it wasn't necessary, even so they won't give him another chance to escape again.

"yeah, i was too lazy to look for that rat before, but i changed my mind, let's just kill this arrogant brat" even though his tone was calm, the killing intent radiating from the man was apparent.

the man raised his mechanical arm when suddenly a gunshot was heard hitting the man's arm and his movements paused, the man then slowly turned his head over his shoulder.

"what..." everyone looked simultaneously towards the window on the second floor of the warehouse.

that's when they saw owen aiming his rifle at them, his face pale as a ghost but his eyes sparkling with determination, while lydia remained behind. him, he also insisted on staying.

"o..owen?" dan flabbergasted.

the dragxstarn grinned widely "found them"

"owen get out of there!" dan screamed in fright.

however, owen kept firing at the dragxtarns, one of dragxtarn's gloves transformed into a giant shield then blocked the shot at the same time the other dragxtarn sprinted then took a long jump while raising his hammer towards owen.

dan could only stare in horror and scream, "nooo!"

lydia closed her eyes while hugging owen tightly.

'someone, please help us!' she prays.

at that moment, dozens of ice spears suddenly appeared from the dark sky and rained down on the unsuspecting enemy. dan shut his eyes and covered his head, that's why he didn't realize about the transparent barrier that shielded him safely from the ice pricks.

"sh*t!"

"what is this?"

"take cover!"

the shield user enlarged his shield to allow nearby comrades to hide under it while others standing far away had no choice but to defend themselves, however, facing dozens of ice spears falling like rain, they couldn't help but get injured even though it wasn't a serious injury.
