The Shining Star Above The Heaven

Chapter 1169 - 1169: In Good Mood

Chapter 1169 - 1169: In Good Mood

In another place far from the military headquarters, a similar situation unfolded. A middle-aged man with white hair had just concluded a gathering of many hunters above A-rank. They walked out of the hall with mixed expressions. Some looked anxious, some eager, some calm, some curious. Overall, the atmosphere here was much more positive than in the military.

The middle-aged man was the leader of China's Hunter Association, Master Gao. He stepped down from the podium, and his sole disciple, Ruan Jingxue, approached him and bowed.

"Master," she greeted him.

Master Gao nodded, then continued walking with Ruan Jingxue following at his side.

"Master, I mean no disrespect, may I ask about the matter of those otherworlders."

Master Gao smiled. "What do you want to ask?"

Seeing that smile, Ruan Jingxue could tell how good her master's mood was. In fact, she had noticed it since recent days.

However, today, it seemed he could no longer hide it. Since earlier, he had shown a bright expression that even left some hunters in the association astonished.

They had almost never seen Master Gao smile, yet now he walked with a clear sense of joy, as if something good had happened to him.

"Master, how can you be certain that those four otherworlders possess strength far beyond anything we are facing? You even said with certainty that all otherworlders would be nothing in front of those four," Ruan Jingxue asked.

"Didn't you see how your older sister was brought to her knees along with other SS-rank hunters by that woman? That was only from an aura, and only a small fraction of it. I know you couldn't sense it, and you might think that someone at SSS-rank, could do the same."

"Make no mistake. Don't compare that woman's aura to any SSS or even SSSS rank, or even to mine. We are nothing in front of them."

Hearing the certainty in his tone, Ruan Jingxue was astonished. Still, she felt something was strange. Although those otherworlders appeared amicable, they were also potentially dangerous.

With power beyond her master, they were unstoppable, yet her master seemed far too laid-back and relaxed.

Heck, he did not seem bothered at all. Instead, he sounded pleased as he spoke about those four otherworlders.

She had been with her master for years, yet she still could not grasp the depth of his strength or the mystery surrounding him. Everyone knew that the era of hunters began because a mysterious figure had guided the heroes, teaching them how to grow stronger using the heaven and earth energy.

However, they did not know that the mysterious figure was actually her master. Only she and the heroes knew that truth.

With that kind of power, it was only natural for her to wonder about the source of his knowledge, or his origin. He was too mysterious. Even she, his sole disciple, had never uncovered the full truth behind him.

But now, seeing him so pleased with the appearance of those four strong otherworlders, she could not help but question it. Did he have some connection with them?

"Master, if I may ask, is there any connection between you and those otherworlders? I have to say, seeing you like this feels as if I am facing someone else. It is my first time seeing you like this… it gives me goosebumps."

Master Gao coughed and tried to compose himself. Even so, the joy on his face could not be completely hidden.

"Well, I just feel happy that our world will finally undergo another change with their appearance. Their arrival is a sign that we can finally see a higher realm of power. How could I not be happy about that? I will finally be able to grow much stronger after being stuck at my current level for so long."

Although what he said sounded believable, Ruan Jingxue could not help but feel that her master was still hiding something from her.

"Master, with their appearance, it will surely cause an uproar among the masses. I don't think we can keep their true identity hidden for long. Many parties will learn about them after this. Even now, I can already imagine countless people trying to uncover information about them."

"I don't doubt that," her master replied.

"I am worried that someone might do something foolish and offend them. You already know the problems that could arise. Some guilds might think they can gain benefits, and those malignant group that always seek chaos may act recklessly. They could provoke those four and end up endangering Earth," Ruan Jingxue said with a worried tone.

Master Gao's eyes glistened as a smirk formed on his lips.

"Well, then let them try. They will regret it if they think they have any chance to play tricks in front of absolute power. But I will make sure that Earth does not fall into danger. Let those fools bear the consequences of their stupidity."

He spoke with a mocking tone, but soon after, he smiled again and turned to look at her.

"Jingxue, you are curious about those otherworlders, aren't you?"

Her master's sudden question made her raise her eyebrows before she nodded.

"Yes, Master."

Master Gao nodded. "Then I will bring you to meet them in the near future. I will let you experience for yourself the difference between them and all other beings."

Ruan Jingxue raised her eyebrows. "Is it alright if I follow you to meet them?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't it be? You are my disciple," Master Gao replied with a smile. This time, his voice was sincere, his tone showing that she was his pride.

Ruan Jingxue also showed a small smile and nodded. "Then I will follow Master."

"Good." Master Gao looked forward. "Anyway, I need to go to Beijing. I have to meet with some people. You can continue your training on your own for now. I will inform you when we go to meet them."

Ruan Jingxue lowered her head. "Yes, Master."

----------------------------------

In Beijing, stood one of the tallest buildings, visible from various parts of the city. Everyone who passed by it could not help but feel admiration and reverence, as this building was owned by the de facto strongest guild in China.

The Red Moon Guild was a famous guild established during the apocalypse era. They rose to prominence with their powerful members, who quickly adapted to the heaven and earth energy after the era of hunters began.

Rumor had it that they were fortunate enough to have a gate rich in resources appear near their guild building in Shanghai, allowing them to take advantage of it and rapidly grow stronger.

Their strength had also helped protect the world against the invasions of monsters and otherworlders.

With such a solid foundation, they eventually reached their current position, gaining fame and reverence from many.

Although there is also a rumor that they had a background as a mafia group in the past, most people did not think too much about it. Many did not even believe it, considering how the Red Moon Guild had proven itself time and time again by helping the masses and clearing countless gates.

Any negative rumors about them were often dismissed as futile attempts by other parties with ill intent to tarnish their reputation.

They were like a strong and unshakable giant tree that could withstand any wind that tried to knock them down.

At this moment, inside the Red Moon Guild headquarters, near the top floor, a middle-aged man stood by the window, looking out over the city.

His calm gaze swept across the capital, as if everything lay beneath him. With a cigarette in his hand, dressed in a black business suit and tie, he exuded an aura that demanded respect.

The faint scars on his face stood as proof of the many battles he had fought.

All in all, he looked like someone no one should ever provoke.

This imposing presence suited him well, as he was one of the most powerful hunters in the world. One of the few SSSS-rank hunters on earth, and the man who had led the Red Moon Guild to its current height.

He was Wei Zhenyuan, the master of the Red Moon Guild.

While he was relaxing and smoking, a knock sounded on the door of his room before a man in a black suit entered. The man was a young adult with glasses. His neatly combed hair gave him a certain charm, as if he were some kind of strategist.

"Excuse me, Master," he said before closing the door.

Wei Zhenyuan did not respond and continued smoking, but the man with glasses did not mind. Instead, he stood in front of the desk and continued speaking.

"We have received information from the Hunter Association. Something big is happening. You should see this, Master. It just arrived." He then placed a digital tablet on the table.

"Something big?" Wei Zhenyuan finally turned and looked at the table. He took a slow drag of smoke before picking up the tablet and looking at the contents displayed on the screen.

After a few moments, a look of interest appeared on his face.

"Otherworlders stronger than SSSS-rank? And they are asking us to cooperate with various parties to maintain order, and to treat these otherworlders with respect as long as they remain on Earth?"

He placed the tablet back on the table, the screen displaying four photos of Aldrian and his wives.

"It seems the Hunter Association is treating this seriously. They have even strictly warned all guilds not to disturb these otherworlders," the man with glasses said.

"Interesting… truly interesting. This makes me even more curious about them."

"What do you want to do, Master?"

Wei Zhenyuan smirked. "Send someone to meet them. Let's see what kind of people these so-called beings, stronger than SSSS-rank, really are. If possible, we might be able to take advantage of their existence. Our position could rise even further. We might even free ourselves from the Hunter Association's shadow."
