Chapter 112: The Worst Case

Chapter 112: The Worst CaseNao’s POV:

I was still trapped inside Vorx’s ultimate skill, [Ultimate Dark Magic: Pandemonium Labyrinth]—a hellish maze packed with monsters constantly attacking me from every direction. Staying calm, I continued slicing through each monster that crossed my path.

Vorx stood atop a high tower made of magma and monster bones. From there, she controlled the beasts and prepared another wave of magic to crush me.

"Watch out! She’s planning a new attack!" Envi’s voice rang in my head, warning me just in time.

Almost immediately, Vorx cast [Invisible Blade] and [Ground Spikes]. The spells launched one after another in a relentless barrage.

"Ugh, damn it! She can spam magic like crazy because her mana is infinite in here. That’s just cheating," I muttered, weaving through the attacks with [Yanagi Uke] to deflect them.

But as more monsters poured in, I was slowly pushed to my limit. Whenever I couldn’t block an attack with my katana, I used [Dark Magic: Veil of the Phantom] to absorb the incoming hits.

Despite taking a few of Vorx’s attacks, I kept my health up by mowing down weaker monsters. Thanks to the passive effect of [The Bonehowl Ring], I restored 5% of my HP every time I killed a lower-leveled enemy.

Seeing me still standing, Vorx shouted from her perch, "Impossible! How are you still alive?! I’ve attacked you with hundreds of monsters and you haven’t even fallen once!"

"I won’t go down to your pathetic magic!" I shouted back, trying to provoke her.

Her face twisted in anger as she summoned even more monsters. I was starting to feel overwhelmed, but I

Hearing that, Cain immediately lunged toward him, but it was too late—the teleportation circle sealed, and Zorx vanished. Cain let out a frustrated roar, slamming his fist into the ground.

The weight of Zorx’s words crushed us. Amelia’s face went pale with panic; she must be thinking about her sister, Arsene.

"This is bad. Even though the headmaster Arsene is out there and leading the outer defense of the dungeon with the professors, I don’t know if they can defeat Zorx. Even Cain the hero hasn’t managed to defeat him—he must be very strong!" My mind raced.

This is the worst-case scenario... If Zorx unleashes those monsters, Arsene, the professors, the Braveheart Knight Academy students, even the kingdom’s citizens will be slaughtered!

This couldn’t be allowed to happen. We had to stop them. Somehow.

I shook off the rising despair and take back my body control from Envi who was brimming with rage. "Calm down, everyone!" I shouted, pulling all attention to me.

I laid out the plan. "We’ll split into two teams. One team will head out and stop Zorx and the Dungeon Break monsters. The other team will stay here to defeat Vorx once and for all."

"We’ll use Professor Aldin’s teleportation crystal to get outside," I continued. The professor gave a firm nod, pulling out his crystal.

After a moment of silence, I divided the teams. I would stay behind to face Vorx, while Cain would lead the charge to take down Zorx outside.

There was no time to hesitate. We were all battered, bruised, and exhausted. But if we failed here, the Braveheart Kingdom would fall.
